ADC ERROR
An ADC Error is an error message typically seen on LWTS devices where one or more boards have died or come lose internally. This is a fatal issue that cannot be resolved by troubleshooting. The design on the LWTS device has 3 boards with connectors that allow them to communicate with each other. There is a small chance one of these connections are loose, however, the majority of ADC Errors occur when a chip on the VB/AB/MB burns out. This chip is called an Analog to Digital converter (ADC) and is responsible for translating the battery voltage into a device-readable number (like 10.2). If this chip dies, the device does not know what vBatt is and will not allow a flash. When a device has an ADC Error, it will display the words ‘ADC Error’ next to vBatt within the Device Info page. The only way to fix an ADC Error is to replace the affected board and ensure it has a good connection, however, we no longer have replacement boards for the LWTS product, so we must upgrade the customer to an LWTS+. There is an upgrade fee to upgrade from an LWTS to an LWTS+ if your device has an ADC Error.
