Overview

The Bully Dog B3X is a performance tuning module calibrated specifically for your vehicle to optimize engine performanceThis guide provides comprehensive instructions for installation, syncing with the Tuning Pro app, and fine-tuning your settings.  


1. Scope of Delivery

Before starting, ensure your package contains the following items:

  • A: Bully Dog B3X Module: Specifically calibrated for your vehicle.  

  • B: Wiring Harness: Automobile-grade and vehicle-compatible.  

  • C: Fixing System Pro: Includes 360 degree fixing clips. 

  • D: Cable Ties: 2 x long and 3 x short ties.  

  • E: Deactivation Plug: Returns your engine to stock tune.  

  • F: User Manual: Installation and operation guide.  

  • G: Engine Warranty: For your peace of mind.  


2. Device Overview: Digital User Interface

The B3X features an integrated interface for direct control and status monitoring.

  • A: Display: Shows the currently selected mapping.  

  • B: +/- Buttons: Used to change mappings during fine-tuning.  

  • C: Power ON Light: Illuminates only when the vehicle ignition is on and the B3X is receiving power.  

  • D: Bluetooth Symbol: Indicates an active connection to your smartphone.  

  • E: Fixing Slots: Location for the 360 degree fixing clips.  

  • F: FCI Plug: Connection point for the wiring harness.  


3. Installation Steps

Estimated Time: 25–30 minutes.  

Step 1: Preparation

  • Cool Down: Wait for the engine to cool to avoid burns.  

  • Power Down: Open the bonnet, lock the doors, and wait 10 minutes for electrical systems to switch off.  

  • Keyless Go: Place keys at least 10 meters away from the vehicle.  

  • Note: If your car won't lock with the bonnet open, push the bonnet catch over manually, lock the car, and wait 15 minutesRemember to release the catch later.  

Step 2: Engine Cover Removal

  • The engine cover is typically held by clips (A) or screws (B).  

  • If your vehicle does not have a cover, proceed to Step 3.  

Step 3: Connect Turbo Boost Pressure Sensor

  • Locate the turbo boost pressure sensor.  

  • Disconnect the stock plug and connect the harness end marked "A".  

  • Ensure the locking clip engages with a sharp CLICK.  

Step 4: Connect Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor

  • Locate the MAP sensor.  

  • Disconnect the stock plug and connect the harness end marked "B".  

  • Listen for the CLICK to confirm a secure connection.  

Step 5: Function Test & Final Mounting

  1. Ignition ON: Switch on the ignition but DO NOT start the engine.  

  2. Verify Power: Check that the Power ON light on the B3X is lit.  

  3. Start Engine: If clear, start the engine; it should idle normally.  

  4. Secure Device: Use the 360 degree clips and cable ties to secure the module away from heat and moving parts.  



4. Syncing with the Tuning Pro App

  1. Download the Tuning: Pro app from your app store.  

  2. With the ignition ON, open the app and select ADD PRODUCT.  

  3. Enter the 13-digit serial number from the back of the device or scan the QR code.  

  4. Use the last 6 digits of the serial number as your Bluetooth PIN.  


5. Fine-Tuning Your Mappings

Note: Only change mappings when the ignition is ON but the engine is OFF.  

  • Factory Setting: Mappings default to 5.  

  • For Smoother Idling: If the engine runs roughly, move down the scale (e.g., from 5 to 4) until performance is smooth.  

  • For Extra Performance: If you want more noticeable power, move up the scale (e.g., from 5 to 6 or 7).  


6. Troubleshooting Highlights

  • Engine fault light: Park, leave ignition on, set mapping to 1, and turn off ignitionLock the car and wait 30 minutes before restarting.  

  • Rough gear shifts: Select the next lower fine-tuning mapping until shifts are smooth.  

  • No fuel savings: Ensure an economical driving style and select a higher mapping for better efficiency.
