This page contains information about common issues related to fuses. In particular, the VPW fuse issue and the SVT focus fuse issue outlined below.
Also, occasionally a customer will have an issue where the device doesn't power up at the vehicles OBD2 port. This can be because the cigarette lighter fuse is blown. Many vehicles share the same fuse between the OBD2 port and the cig. lighter. Advise the customer to check this fuse if the device powers up at a different vehicle, but not at theirs.

GM Fuse Pull List
This is the GM Fuse Pull List designed to resolve general vehicle communication error codes (like 110B8) on GM vehicles. Pull these fuses and attempt to tune the vehicle. We recommend you start with the short list first - pull as many as possible from the short list and attempt to flash. If the issue persists after testing the short list, then try the long list. Leave the fuses from the short list pulled, then pull 1 fuse from the long list at a time, attempting to flash after every individual fuse pulled - this will tell us which fuses are causing the problem so the customer knows for future tuning. Not every fuse will be there as this fuse list takes into account many GM vehicle models from many years. Pull the fuses that are available on your vehicle, ignore the fuses that are not on your vehicle, and this should break through the error code.
*Be aware these are general names of fuses and could be labelled as something else on the vehicle you are testing on, but the purpose of the fuse would be the same - e.g. TBC fuse could be labelled as a Body Control Module fuse.*
If you are not able to resolve the error code by pulling fuses, leave the fuses pulled and then:
- Verify battery voltage (Vbatt) reads 12.0+ under ‘Device Info’ (both with the key in the off position, and in the on position)
- Do a battery reset (unhook battery terminals and hold down brake pedal for 3 minutes then hook battery terminals back up)
- Read DTCs
- Clear DTCs
- Try again.
